Teddy Bear Room (16 months – 2 Years)

Teddy Bear Room

Staff: Phyllis T., Heidie LB., Emma C., Jokish B.

We’d like to welcome you and your child to the Teddy Bear Room. We look forward to a wonderful experience helping your child grow. We believe that when parents and teachers work together children not only grow—they blossom! We’d like to take a few minutes to acquaint you with some of our procedures.

The sign in sheet is on a clipboard outside the door. Please remember to sign your child in and out every day.

When you drop off your child in the morning, we ask that you fill out the top part of your child’s daily sheet. This contains helpful information for the staff about your child’s day so far. We will fill out the bottom half of the sheet during the day so you can know how your child’s day went.

Please check the white board above the lunch area to see what was served for breakfast, lunch and snack.

Each child has a basket and hook inside the room for their personal belongings. Check the basket for notes, etc.

On the window above the sign in desk is a message area that lets you know where we are if we are not in the room.

We keep track of how many diapers you bring in for your child and when you bring them. We’ll tell you when your supply is running low.

Be sure to leave some seasonally appropriate extra clothes for your child. Please bring at least a shirt, pants and socks and mark them with the child’s name.

Weather permitting, the Teddy Bears go outside every day. If your child is too sick to go outside, she is too sick to come to child care. In the winter make sure your child has a coat or jacket, hat, mittens, snow pants and boots. In the summer it is a good idea to bring a head covering of some kind, and remember to provide sunscreen if your child needs it.

We’re looking forward to getting to know you and your child!
